Womankind’s Art & Illustration Award II is now open and we are accepting submissions.
The theme for this Award is 'joy'.
Award I: JOY
Theme: Artists must focus their work on the feeling of 'joy', employing any medium the artist desires including watercolour, pencil, charcoal, pastel, digital art, sculpture (image supplied), and so on.
Format: One high-resolution image (minimum 300dpi, 3000 px wide) per entry, plus a separate photograph of the current edition Womankind magazine alongside your artwork (if it is digital artwork, then the photo should be of the magazine next to an image of your artwork on your computer). We do not accept sexual or violent images, nudity nor semi-nudity for any of our Awards.
Closed: Midnight 15 March 2020 (AEST)
Entry: Open to all Womankind readers (you must submit a photo of the current edition of the magazine next to your artwork along with your entry). If you don't have a copy yet you can purchase one here. In this instance, a reference to your online purchase order number will suffice in lieu of a photo of the magazine.
Prize: $500 + publication in Womankind magazine.
Entries are open to all readers of Womankind magazine, note that you must include a separate photo of the magazine (current edition) alongside your artwork when you submit your entry. If you don't have a copy you can purchase one from newsstands around the world or from our online store. In this instance, a reference to your online purchase order number will suffice in lieu of a photo of the magazine.
Submissions must be sent along with the writer’s full name and title for the artwork via email on the closing date to email@example.com (by midnight). You can submit one entry per award.
Conditions: Entries are open to Womankind readers. Entries must be submitted by the due date for the relevant award listed above. One artwork per entry. We do not accept sexual or violent images, nudity nor semi-nudity. All entrants grant Womankind non-exclusive rights (the writer retains copyright over the work) to publish the selected work in Womankind magazine, on Womankind's social media channels, and on womankindmag.com. The winning entry/entries will be selected by the Womankind team based on the quality of the artwork and the strength of the ideas presented in the work. If there are insufficient entries or if the board is unable to determine a winner in any category the board may decide not to award a prize. All decisions are final, no correspondence will be entered into.
