Thinking of taking up photography as a hobby? Or are you a professional photographer looking for new avenues for publishing…
How much does music define your life? Does your week reverberate to the beat of your favourite musician or entertainer? For this coming challenge, starting this Wednesday 11 September, we want you to do something drastic and that’s to change it up a bit. Womankind’s Music Challenge is about listening to, or taking up, a music preference that you’ve not experienced before. For music lovers, it’s about listening to a music genre, or an artist, that you’d normally overlook – what about death metal, or country, or the subtle sounds of the ancient lyre? For others, it might involve taking up an instrument like the guitar or the piano, or re-establishing a long-lost music practice.
Our upcoming Challenge – starting this Wednesday, 11 September, is to engage in new music for at least 5 minutes a day, and then write about your experiences in a diary. For five days we encourage you to write a diary about your time listening to, or playing, music – and document how the new tunes, or the new practice, alters your week, your thoughts, and your mood. You may find that your new music choice changes the pace of your week, or shifts your perspective in subtle ways.
Starting this Wednesday 11 September until Sunday 15 September – the challenge goes for five days in total. Once done, send us your five-day diary to email@example.com, no later than Tuesday 17 September, 2019.
Womankind will publish some diary entries in our upcoming issue. You’re encouraged to read previous ‘Challenges’ published in Womankind magazine for an idea of style.
Word length, around 150-200 words a day.
